It can be a treat to own a beach house, but in order to look forward to going there every summer, you’ll need to put a little bit of effort into making sure the décor is flawless. While a lavishly decorated beach home can turn a getaway house into a true paradise, a beach house is meant to be carefree so keep a simplistic mind frame.
This bright, open beach house lacked the window treatments needed to create a cozy and inviting feel. We created a one-way draw, pinch-pleat panel in a bold geometric print. This single panel stacks neatly to one side and draws closed from left to right. It is the ideal configuration for high traffic patio door. The reason custom draperies are recommended for a sliding glass door is that store-bought panels come in 54″ wide pieces. Our custom panel is two and half times larger than a store-bought panel, and sewn together seamlessly. That way when the panel is closed, it will still ripple and look lovely.
To compliment the look of this particular beach house, we added white Plantation shutters. These shutters are a beautiful addition to any home’s decor, but they are practical as well. They provide a barrier between heat entering the home and cool air leaving it. Perfect for a beach house!
